So as you might have noticed, I haven’t blogged for a long while. I took what I thought to be a short vacation during thanksgiving which turned out to be much longer. Here’s the deal, I’ve been learning a lot lately about priorities and having different seasons in life. I’ve also been reflecting on my blog and the purpose of it. Here are a couple of the conclusions I’ve came up with;
- this blog has become about me.
- by writing to readers out there in the blogosphere, I’ve overlooked people that are right in front of me that God wants me to influence.
- it’s become an obligation and another thing to do on my list.
I’m not saying I’m going to quit blogging, BUT I am going to blog much more intentionally. It’s time for me to narrow my focus a bit. It also won’t as regular. Mostly because the pace of life is a bit intense right now.
I still get great benefit from reading some of your blogs. Specifically this one, this one, and this one. Not to mention this one, this one, and this one. Blogs like these among many others feed my soul. I will say though some of the most popular blogs that are becoming quite narcissistic are going to be deleted from my rss feed. I really want to find the balance of what is true community and what is a false sense of community. Like I’ve said before, I believe that a certain amout of community can be found in the online world BUT for me it’s very incomplete. There is value in blogging, twittering, etc but I get skeptical with those who go overboard with it. It’s a tool, not the answer.
In the meantime, I’ve been really enjoying using twitter and facebook. I feel like there is more connection. You can follow me here and find me here.
much love.

Here’s where I’ve been living…
Matthew 11:28-30
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
I usually like to get to the “rest” and skip the “Come to me” part. This verse is an action verse. If I want rest I have to come to Him, get away with Him. That’s the only way it happens. Sometimes I wait for some supernatural “zap” of rest to happen amidst a busy schedule and all the other chaos. I pray for it, I beg God for it, but it never happens. It won’t happen. Rest only happens when I make the time to “get away” with Him. To spend time letting him fill me up.
God is ready and willing to give rest but is waiting for us to take the first step towards him.
When was the last time you “came to Him” and lived “freely and lightly”?

There are tons of things running through my head today that I will keep to myself. Here are a few that I won’t;
- I don’t understand the street corner sign holding thing. Does that really work? More power to ya if you’re one of those people. It’s just not my style.
- I excited about the campaigning being over.
- I’m super excited about the commercials being over.
- I stood in line for roughly 30 seconds today. That was awesome. I’m glad I did not do the early voting thing. I just hope mine gets counted.
- It’s funny how passionate people get with so little information.
- I see how people are motivated by what affects them the most personally. If you are gay, that’s what motivates you. If you have poor health, you base your vote on the better plan for you. If you’re an air traffic controller, you base your decision……(jk, love you Ben, although your wrong…..again kidding….but not really)
- It is interesting to me how much America responds to charisma and excellent campaign management.
- Hopefully we’ll all stop arguing after today, or at least less. I think that’s wearing me down more than anything. It feels like the whole country is in an argument. It stresses me out.
- It’s amazing to see the camaraderie between two strangers who are voting for the same person. I wonder what it would be like if more Christians had that same connection? After all, we’re following the same person.
- No matter who wins, I vow to pray for them.
- I’m not scared.

I’ve been asked by my good friends Trent and Keisha Cory to be a part of a great night of worship. The concept is simple, we’re going to meet in warehouse in New Smyrna and worship. I love it!
So on Friday Nov 21st, 7:00 P.M., we’re going to gather and spend some time in worship. No other agenda but to give God glory. We’re not pushing a specific church organization or person other than Jesus and His church. Mark the date on your calendars. For more info check out www.theworshipwarehouse.com.

Well, not just in my mind. I’m actually going there. It should be a good couple days hanging at The Cove (Billy Graham’s place) in Asheville, N.C. Bob Coy from Calvary Chapel in Ft. Lauderdale is the speaker. My brother and I will be leading worship with Michael Neale as well.
I’m excited about going but this is the first time I’ve flown this far with my brother. He’s a great pilot and did real well on all his testing this week (not something you want to squeak by on!). Fortunately for me, I’ve watched “Man vs. Wild” so if we go down in the mountains and live I should be able to make it out.
I mean he looks like he knows what he’s doing, right?
